Sculptural upholstered chair – designed entirely in-house
A chair with a strongly sculptural silhouette, developed from concept to cutting sheet through a complete 3D design process. Every curve of the backrest and arms is modelled digitally, checked in volume and optimised before it goes into production.
The design starts from the 3D model of the final shape, from which we derive the internal plywood structure: a layered frame of 15, 12 and 3 mm, CNC-cut and nested for minimum material use. Part layout on the sheet, joints and foam build-up are planned at design stage, so that the rounded form the client “reads” matches exactly the structure that supports it.
The result of this careful engineering: a stable, lightweight chair with a continuous form and an impeccable finish on every side, reproducible identically in series. The model can be adapted in size or finish, directly from the design, to suit each client’s requirements.
